Announcing the Return of Coleen Christie as Emcee for AFC's Annual Gala on October 12, 2012

Vancouver, BC - CANADA - September 18, 2012 - CTV's Coleen Christie will return for the second year to emcee the 2012 Artists for Conservation Gala on October 12, 2012.

Coleen Christie is the anchor of CTV-BC's highest rated newscast, weeknights at 11:30 PM. Since 1997, Coleen has reported on everything from community issues to major entertainment events. She cut her teeth anchoring the station's morning show. Since then, she has hosted three cycles of CTV's former national weekend morning show, Good Morning Canada, and fills in as host on CTV's Canada AM.

Coleen also lends her time and support to many community and charity events including Friends for Life, Dress for Success, BC Cancer Agency and numerous other health, social welfare and the environmental issues. So we're very pleased to have Coleen join Artists For Conservation for this important evening and to partner with CTV, an official media sponsor of the Artists For Conservation Festival!

Coleen will lead opening and award ceremonies and keynote presentations involving some of the world's most prominent nature and wildlife artists including Robert Bateman and including internationally-renowned artists, Pollyanna Pickering, Guy Combes, Andrew Denman, Mark Hobson, Sharon Schafer and other prominent Canadian artists such as Michael Dumas, Kelly Dodge, and David Kitler.

The Artists for Conservation Festival Gala on October 12 is a AFC's main annual fundraising event for art and environmental education programs including its "Adventures in Art and Environment" youth education series and, new this year, Adult Art Workshops by renowned international artists.
