AFC Announces Two Commemorative Edition Prints for 2012

Vancouver, BC Canada - October 5, 2012 - Artists for Conservation announces the release of two limited edition fine art prints. One features an oil painting of a Winter Wren by acclaimed Canadian artist Michael Dumas and another features an acrylic painting of a Pygmy Owl by award-winning German artist Hans Kappel. Both artworks were selected from the upcoming Artists for Conservation Exhibit - the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale. This is AFC's 5th annual exhibit of Members' artworks and second annual exhibit to open in North Vancouver, BC. The artwork will be displayed in Grouse Mountain Resort's peak chalet between Oct 13 to 21.

Limited editions of 250 of each artwork are available for purchase. Dumas's "Spring Thaw" depicts a Winter Wren foraging about a mossy stream and has an image size of 8.75" x 8.75" and is priced at $75. Kappel's dramatic and larger painting "Owl Alert" depicts a Kinglet mobbing a Pygmy Owl in an old growth forest. The image size of Kappel's print is 17" x 24" and is priced at $125. Both prints are printed on archival paper with archival inks.

Both items will be featured and avaliable for purchase at the Artists for Conservation Festival at Grouse Mountain from October 13 to 21st in North Vancouver, BC in the Spirit Gallery Gift Shop. If you can't make it to the festival, order online at the AFC gift shop. 100% of the proceeds of the sales of the prints will support Artists for Conservation year-round art and environmental education programming.
