2015 AFC Exhibiting Artists Announced

Vancouver, BC., CANADA – July 3, 2015 - Artists for Conservation (AFC) is proud to announce the list of 2015 exhibiting artists accepted into the Artists for Conservation Exhibit - the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale, benefitting the conservation cause. This is AFC's 8th annual exhibit of members' artworks and third annual exhibit to open in Vancouver, BC. The exhibit officially opens on September 11, 2015, following a special fundraiser gala and awards evening at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

Artists for Conservation comprises a membership of 500 of the world's most gifted nature artists from 27 countries, across five continents. Dedicated to nurture, promote and leverage its world-class community of artists in support of our natural world, of these artists 145 have been juried into the exhibit, representing 200 artworks and 15 countries, including: Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Guatemala, Israel,  Japan, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, South Africa, The Netherlands,  UK, USA.. Of these, 80 artists with 85 artworks will be exhibiting at the live exhibit opening in Vancouver. Many of the artists will be present for the opening weekend for special events, and to provide programming – special lectures, live painting demonstrations and much more.

Artwork in the exhibit is for sale and ranges in price from $500 to $50,000. Approximately 40% of proceeds from artwork sales benefits conservation and environmental education, and each artwork is dedicated to supporting a conservation organization of the artist's choice.

Artists whose work is included in the live exhibit in Vancouver are indicated in bold. To offer a greater opportunity for inclusiveness, particularly for artists who live in locations where the costs of shipping to Canada are prohibitive, artists were given the option to participate in the virtual exhibit only.

Thank you to our jury for their generous contribution of time and expertise toward making the 8th annual AFC exhibit a very strong one. Jurors in this year's exhibit included:

  • John Banovich - Artist and AFC Member (USA);
  • Steve Morvell - Artist and AFC Member (Australia);
  • Murray Phillips - Artist and AFC Board Member (Canada);
  • Holly Swangstu - Art Institute Director, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (USA);
  • Debra Usher - Publisher & Editor in Chief, Arabella Magazine (Canada)

    AFC congratulates all artists who have been selected for the 2015 Artists for Conservation Exhibit.
