Suzanne creates images that force the viewer to stop and reflect on the accessible beauty, calm, wildness, and especially the therapeutic quality of nature and hope. For the last two years, her art has evolved towards abstraction while retaining figurative elements. The latest series depicts contemporary forests, trees and natural elements in a semi-figurative way. This semi-abstract style gives her the opportunity to paint in a freer, bolder way and still retains the detailed work she enjoys. Introducing more acrylic and inks in her work, she wants to continue to develop this gestural way of painting especially for her backgrounds that are worked instinctively. A new series is often elaborated according to a challenge, a new technique to master, a question that needs answering. She believes this process is what fuels artistic growth and stays open to new experiments and discoveries. Because she believes art should be shared and be engaged, through and with her art, she supports several causes, including environmental and animal protection and the well-being of women and children.
