Vancouver, BC CANADA - July 22nd, 2013 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that Edward Spera's "Generations" painting has been selected for the cover of the 2013 Artists for Conservation exhibit book. The annual hardcover "coffee-table" book is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the 6th annual AFC Exhibit, showing in North Vancouver, BC running September 27 thorough to October 6th. The image will be on display in AFC's virtual online exhibit this fall.
AFC President, Jeff Whiting explains: "Ed is a long-time supporter and member of AFC and a quintessential explorer and nature artist. He's committed to using his incredible talent to drawing public attention to the inherent charisma and diversity in wildlife found around the world."
The back cover of the book is graced by Mark Susinno's "Plunge Pool Revisited" depicting an underwater scene of a Brook Trout.
The 2013 Exhibit book is published as a companion to the annual exhibit. The 234-page tribute to AFC's global pool of artist talent and features artwork juried into the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale - centrepiece of the upcoming Artists for Conservation Festival, as well artworks featured in a broader online virtual show. The 2013 Artists for Conservation Festival represents AFC's 6th annual exhibition of Members' artworks and third annual exhibit opening in North Vancouver, BC. on September 28 at Grouse Mountain Resort. The book also includes chapters on last year's festival, as well as this year's Simon Combes Conservation Award winner Richard Ellis, and AFC's recent group expedition to the Cayman Islands.
All proceeds from the 2013 Exhibit book supports Artists for Conservation. The book can be ordered online or purchased at the Artists for Conservation Festival at Grouse Mountain from September 27 - October 6 in North Vancouver, BC in the Spirit Gallery Gift Shop. Supplies are very limited and this prized collector's book is sure to sell quickly.
