Proceeds from sale of new Bateman Original will support AFC

AFC friends and Bateman fans are eagerly awaiting the new Bateman, a 24"x 48" oil on canvas original painting that depicts...wait for it...a Pacific Northwestern alpine winter scene with snow-laden trees and a pack of wolves in the background.

Once Bateman's put the finishing touches on the painting, just in time for the AFC Festival opening, the painting will be valued at CA $55,000.

Robert Bateman is generously supporting Artists For Conservation and its fundraising efforts with this original painting, which he is specifically creating to commemorate the first annual Artists For Conservation Festival at Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, Canada.

The painting and a special "conservation edition" of 100 signed and numbered limited edition prints, will be available for pre-sale as of the Festival Gala November 4, 2011. An official public unveiling of the painting will take place at the Festival opening ceremony November 5, 2011 at Grouse Mountain.

Admission to AFC Festival (indoor programs) is free of charge.  Admission is required for outdoor programs in the Botanical Garden. Admission is free for all programming at Maplewood Conservancy.
