While the AFC Festival doesn't get underway until Saturday morning, we're thrilled to get things moving on Friday evening with the first fundraising gala (in benefit of Artists For Conservation) we've ever held in the 14-year history of the organization. Just like the Festival, the Gala will also take place in the beautiful Chalet at Grouse Mountain. And with the temperatures just having dropped down to about 4 degrees in North Vancouver, we can expect that the grande fireplace at the top, a few hundred feet higher will come in handy.
Among the 150 attendees we're expecting will be corporate supporters, partners and their guests from across Metro Vancouver, our member artists, nature-art and conservation enthusiasts, art connoisseurs, friends, and family. Everyone will get a sneak-peak of AFC's 4th international Art Exhibit and new documentary film, and will have a chance to participate in a silent auction featuring original artwork, collector's edition books, fine wine, and high-end Olympic memorabilia.
We are very much looking forward to having Coleen Christie of CTV News as MC for the evening.
A big thank you to Honorary Gala Chair, Stuart McLaughlin, President of Grouse Mountain Resorts, and his team for hosting us.
Stay tuned for updates and photos from the event...
