Bateman Returns as AFC Festival Patron

Vancouver, B.C. CANADA - July 1, 2016 - Robert Bateman, world-renowned nature artist is returning for a fourth time as Festival Patron of the Artists for Conservation Festival on Grouse Mountain, in North Vancouver, BC. In support, he has created another new original painting for this year's event - a three-foot by four-foot oil painting on Canvas titled, "Feast - Vultures".  The 5-day event will bring out leading nature and wildlife artists from around the world, immersing visitors in art and nature through workshops, film, and a world's top conservation-themed art exhibit of 80 original paintings and sculptures. All artwork sales benefit conservation.Bateman returns to this important role following the support of acclaimed UK artist Pollyanna Pickering in 2014 and award winning Canadian bronze sculptor, Brent Cooke, in 2015.

"We're thrilled to have Mr. Bateman return and to have his generous support again for a fourth time." affirms Jeff Whiting, President and founder of Artists for Conservation. Mr. Bateman's artwork will hang in the exhibit among a juried selection of over 80 original artworks by many of the world's leading nature and wildlife artists at Grouse Mountain. In 2013, Bateman was appointed Honorary Chairman of AFC's Advisory Board".

Bateman explains "AFC is doing fantastic work. In a world crowded by many who voice concern over the changes to our planet, AFC and its leadership are doers - leading the charge in an international artistic and cultural movement toward understanding, appreciating, and protecting nature's diversity. I applaud AFC's work and hope that it might help the cause further."

Mr. Bateman's painting, depicting Eurasian Black Vulture and Griffon Vultures, will be available for sale ($60,000 CDN) and on display in the exhibit during the festival. Proceeds from the sales of his artwork will directly support Artists for Conservation programming, including the AFC Flag expeditions and education programs.

The Artists for Conservation Festival opens to public on September 29, 2016 on Grouse Mountain - providing a unique venue overlooking the pacific ocean to celebrate artists and nature.
