Vancouver, BC CANADA - June 15, 2018 - Artists for Conservation is pleased to announce that a mosaic of no fewer than 72 artworks are featured on the latest AFC book jacket. The works are a sampling of hundreds of paintings depicting all endangered species of birds of the world in AFC's collaborative Silent Skies Mural. The annual hardcover "coffee-table" book is published on sustainably forested paper, as a companion to the 10th annual AFC International Exhibit of Nature in Art. The mural will be unveiled during the AFC Festival on August 22 - 25 at the Vancouver Convention Centre and is the artistic centrepiece of the 27th International Ornithological Congress and Vancouver International Bird Festival
AFC publishes a book each year as a companion to the annual exhibit. This is the first year that an artwork from the juried exhibit was not used on the cover. The 240-page tribute to AFC's global pool of artist talent and features all artwork juried into the world's top conservation-themed exhibit and sale - centrepiece of the upcoming Artists for Conservation Festival, as well artworks featured in a broader online virtual show. In 2018, birds were the theme, in keeping with unique partnership between AFC and the IOCongress2018 this year.
The 2018 Artists for Conservation Festival represents AFC's 11th annual exhibition of members' artworks and eighth annual exhibit opening at the Artists for Conservation Festival. All proceeds from book sales support Artists for Conservation charitable programming. The book can be pre-ordered online or purchased at the Artists for Conservation Festival. Supplies are very limited and this prized collector's book is sure to sell quickly.
